Women Empowerment
Women empowerment is about giving women the power to control their own lives and make their own decisions. It is about providing women with the resources and opportunities they need to reach their full potential. Women empowerment is also about changing the way society views and treats women, and creating a more equal and just world for all. Women’s empowerment and autonomy, as well as the improvement of their social, health, political, and economic conditions, are extremely important goals in and of themselves.
It is the foundation for achieving sustainable development. Power equations that obstruct women’s realisation of healthy and fulfilling lives operate at various levels of society, from the most personal to the most public. To achieve transformation, policy and programme initiatives that improve women’s access to secure livelihoods and economic resources, reduce their extreme responsibilities in terms of housework, remove legal barriers to their participation in public life, and raise social awareness through effective education and mass communication programmes are required.
